Get a group together to come to the House for a day of volunteering! Volunteer groups support staff operations and provide families with an opportunity for respite during a highly stressful time.
Volunteer groups can include friends, family members, co-workers, or civic or religious groups. Group volunteers can assist with cooking or sponsoring meals for families, leading activities or House events, or facilitating service projects to help with maintenance and housekeeping around the property. See below for ways to get your group involved.
Food Prep Program
Volunteering with our Food Prep Program helps us to provide free, freshly prepared food to our guest families. Groups can choose to come cook a full Meal of Love for our house of 150, bake treats, or make to-go items. Food resources are essential to our families’ well-being, and each activity is an incredible gift to our families – a day off from cooking, a comforting meal to come home to, and most importantly, more time spent focusing on their loved ones.
Qualifications: Work with our team to reserve a day and mealtime, plan your menu, purchase ingredients, and come cook in one of our communal kitchens. We supply the kitchen and equipment, your group just needs to bring the ingredients and disposable serve ware. All food must be prepared and cooked on-site or brought directly from a commercial retail kitchen. Age 15+ with chaperone. Maximum of 15 volunteers, including chaperones. Meals offered 7x days a week for breakfast, lunch, dinner, or to-go; baking offered 2x days a week in afternoons or evenings.
